North Riverside, IL – The time has come to announce the winner of the Classic Cinemas annual “Predict the Oscars” contest. Berwyn resident Benito Brito, who entered the contest at the North Riverside Mall Theatre at 7501 West Cermak Road, takes home the prize! He will receive a one-year movie pass and a pair of tickets to the Brookfield Zoo. 

 Brito, a Senior at Morton West High School, entered the contest for the first time this year. He says very enthusiastically, “I just love movies so much! I plan to pursue acting while I’m in college.” Brito knew Christopher Plummer would win for “Beginners” because of his previous winnings. He adds, “Meryl Streep was over due for her win as well.”

 This year, 6,875 ballots were cast in predicting the Oscar winners in seven categories:  Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Animated Film.

 Each Classic Cinemas theatre selected one first-place winner from the correct ballots entered at that location. The remaining correct ballots entered at the North Riverside Mall Theatre will receive a pair of movie passes to any Classic Cinemas location and a pair of tickets to the Brookfield Zoo.
