Downers Grove, IL – The time has come to announce the winner of the Classic Cinemas annual “Predict the Oscars” contest. A Downers Grove local dentist and resident James Picchetti, who cast his ballot at the Tivoli Theatre at 5021 Highland Avenue, is the winner! He will receive a one-year movie pass and a pair of tickets to the Brookfield Zoo.

 A 30-year resident of Downers Grove, Picchetti is an avid moviegoer. His son recently moved to California to pursue the movie business and plays an extra in many films. “I was so excited to tell my son about my win!” says Picchetti. He adds, “I go to the Tivoli every other weekend, but I will probably go even more frequently now!”

 This year, 6,875 ballots were cast in predicting the Oscar winners in seven categories:  Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Animated Film.

 Picchetti saw “The Iron Lady” and knew Meryl Streep would win the Oscar. He also really enjoyed “The Descendants” with George Clooney, “I thought the film had a lot of heart.”

 Each Classic Cinemas theatre selected one first-place winner from the correct ballots entered at that location. The remaining correct ballots entered at the Tivoli Theatre will receive a pair of movie passes to any Classic Cinemas location and a pair of tickets to the Brookfield Zoo.
