Forest Park resident Heather Lindstrom, 33, has joined Oak Park Arms Retirement Community (OPA), as Leasing Coordinator. Her responsibilities include overseeing any procedures with lease renewals and contracts, conducting background checks on potential residents, and maintaining leasing records.

Previously, she had volunteered as an activities coordinator for seniors at OPA, organizing the Wii bowling tournaments on Tuesdays. Her work experience prior to OPA was retail management.

A personal draw for Lindstrom is that her mother is also a resident at OPA.

“It’s nice to be able to work in a place where I can be so close to family,” Lindstrom said. “I sincerely enjoy working and spending time with seniors; I believe it is an honor that the Oak Park Arms community allows me to give to them what I consider my contribution to the world.”

Lindstrom is a graduate from Fenwick High School and George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. She married her husband, David, in June of this year.

The Oak Park Arms is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay - a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
