$17,000 Loss Reported in Home Burglary: Oak Park Police Blotter
Oak Park police reports, Oct. 20-28.
SUNDAY, OCT. 28
An Oak Park resident reported that their vehicle was broken into and burglarized in the 600 block of Highland between 4:30 p.m. Oct. 27 and 7:18 a.m. Oct. 28. Someone broke the driver's side window and stole a dashboard radio. The loss was estimated at $170.
Dine and Dash Reported
Denny's, in the 700 block of north Harlem, reported that two women consumed food and then left the restaurant without paying at 2:45 a.m. The two left and entered a vehicle that was reported stolen in Chicago and fled in an unknown direction. The estimated loss was $72.48.

Retail Theft Arrest
Brian S. Rynne, 55, of the 500 block of south Elmwood was arrested and later charged with retail theft at Dominick's in the 200 block of Lake Street at 7:21 p.m.
Home Burglarized for $17,400 Loss
A home in the 100 block of north Ridgeland was reported burglarized to police. The burglary occurred sometime between 9:15 a.m. and 11:23 p.m. Someone used an unknown object to break a glass side panel on the front door to unlock it. Stolen was a flat screen television and miscellaneous jewelry for an estimated loss of $17,400.
Police Property Destroyed
Luis D. Osorio, 19, of the 1400 block of north Harlem in River Forest, was arrested at 10:45 a.m. and charged with criminal damage to state supported property and he destroyed police property on Sept. 30. He was later released on bond.
Two men attempted to burglarize a garage in the 1100 block of north Austin at about midnight by kicking in the side door, an Oak Park resident reported. When the resident heard and yelled out, the two men fled on foot in an unknown direction.
Bikes, Fans Stolen From Garage
Someone stole a bike from a garage on the 800 block of south Ridgeland between 10:30 a.m. and 12:55 p.m., an Oak Park resident told police. The burglars were able to enter the garage because it was open and stole a bike for an estimated loss of $200.
A resident on the 1100 block of south Harvey reported a similar burglary through an open garage door between 12:15 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. A bike was also reported stolen as well as three ceiling fans for an estimated loss of $2,360.
Glass Window Broken
An Elmhurst resident reported to police that someone broke a 16-by-16-inch window on the front door of a building in the 100 block of north Marion between 11:30 p.m. Oct. 26 and 7 a.m. Oct. 27. The estimated loss was $50.
FRIDAY, OCT. 26
Someone stole two unlocked bikes between 6 p.m. Oct. 25 and 6 p.m. Oct. 26 from a garage in the 100 block of Highland. The estimated loss was $540.
An Oak Park resident told police that sometime between Oct. 21-26, someone broke into their garage in the 1100 block of south Scoville and stole an electric chainsaw and a 100-foot extension cord for an estimated loss of $144.
Car in Garage Burglarized
An Oak Park resident told police that someone broke into a car parked in their garage in the 600 block of south Humphrey between 11 p.m. Oct. 25 and 8:50 a.m. Oct. 26. The burglar kicked in a locked side door and once inside, broke the driver's side window of the vehicle. Stolen was an iPad, Garmin GPS, $5 in coins, shirts from Old Navy, two tubes of toothpaste and a cell phone charger. The loss was estimated at $567.
$1K Stolen From Soda Machine
Police reported that a soda machine in the 900 block of south Maple was pried open and $1,020 removed between 5:30 p.m. Oct. 25 and 6 a.m. Oct. 26.
