Another popular local business in downtown Oak Park is shutting down.
Anana's owner Joan Tromp told Wednesday Journal the women's boutique, 109 N. Oak Park Ave., will be closing at the end of the month.
The news comes just weeks after Chameleon, another independent fashion store located right across the street from Anana's, closed shop. And that followed the shuttering of another popular Oak Park store, Fly Bird.
So what's going on here? Did these boutique stores offer products people simply didn't want? Or were the business owners priced out of the downtown business district? We want to know what you think!

I am sorry to hear another business is leaving our village. What can our Village government do to make sure our businesses are doing well?
I know we each have a responsibility to shop at our local businesses (I choose local first) but it seems that there could be tax relief or some other incentive to help businesses through a tough time.

I love shopping at Anana‘s. I love the feminine but modern twist. I believe in shopping locally to keep the community thriving. The prices are just too expensive, for a college girl on a tight budget. I do hate to hear that they are closed.
