Community Aggregation Info Session Thursday
Information campaign underway before April 5 ballot question.
Oak Park residents and business owners are invited to a special informational session on a referendum allowing the village to take part in a community choice aggregation plan for electricity.
(What's that? See our explainer.)
Here's how the village puts it: A question on the April 5 election ballot will "ask voters to authorize Oak Park to bundle — or aggregate — all residential and small business electric accounts and seek bids for electricity on the open market, an option many large industrial and commercial enterprises use to reduce their costs for electricity."
The informational session begins at 7 p.m. at Oak Park Village Hall, 123 Madison St. A second session is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on March 22 at the main branch of the Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake St.
