Bargain hunters be advised, this weekend you've got a great opportunity to grab deals on everything from furniture to house wares and clothes at the Oak Park Temple Rummage Sale, 1235 N. Harlem Ave. in Oak Park.
The sale kicks off this Saturday with a preview event starting at 6 p.m. and running until 8 p.m.
The preview sale costs $5 per person for entry and will get you a first look at all the items available, including designer purses, formal ware, vintage household items and lots for the family.
"We've got a lot of really great items this year," said Lynn Hoffstadter, an organizer of the event. "We have a particularly good selection of kids items."
Coming early is advised.
"A lot of the really good things like the electronics tend to get grabbed [at the preview]," Hoffstadter said.
The event will continue on Sunday and is free to attend from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year, the sale has been expanded to allow for shopping on Monday as well from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., which is also free.
This year, the rummage sale features about 30 tables of goods from electronics to children's toys and 14 racks of clothes. Shirts sell for about $4 on average, coats for $6 and designer items are generally priced at $15.
All proceeds from the event go to benefit Oak Park Temple.
