THIRD FRIDAY GALLERY WALK
When/Where: Friday evening, all throughout the Oak Park Arts District, which runs along Harrison Street from Austin Boulevard to Ridgeland Avenue. 
Why go: Many of the vibrant Harrison Street shops and restaurants keep their doors open after hours for browsing and, in some cases, special workshops.
Price: Free to roam, but prices at galleries and restaurants vary. 

THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER
When/Where: 
Preview performances begin Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. at Circle Theatre, 1010 W. Madison St. in Oak Park. 
Why go: Hilarity ensues in director Mary Redmon's adaptation of George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart's comedy in three acts.
Price: The weekend preview performances are $12. Ticket info for the main run here.

SIMPLY ELEGANT BRIDAL SHOWCASE
When/Where:
Friday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Pleasant Home, 217 Home Ave. in Oak Park.
Why go: The area's top wedding professionals will be on-hand to help guide brides-to-be through all the big choices, "from venues and caterers to photographers and florists."
Price: $10, but the admission price can be waived by bringing evening wear, shoes or accessories for donation to The Glass Slipper Project

HEIRLOOM OR FLEA MARKET FIND: WHAT’S IT WORTH?
When/Where:  
10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Nineteenth Century Club, 178 Forest Ave. in Oak Park. 
Why go: The Historical Society of Oak Park & River Forest is partnering with
Leslie Hindman Auctioneers for expert appraisals of family heirlooms and valuables.
Price: $10 for one item; $25 for three items. Proceeds benefit The Historical Society of Oak Park & River Forest. 

CATHLEEN O'CONNOR TRAGE FOUNDATION BENEFIT
When/Where:  
6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at FitzGerald's, 6615 Roosevelt Road in Berwyn.
Why go: Proceeds from this fundraiser, which honors the memory of Catherine O'Connor Trage, an Oak Parker who died suddenly in 2008, will benefit Misericordia Heart of Mercy.
Price: $60 in advance; $75 at the door.
