Oak Park Police Blotter: Bike Thefts Continue

Stop sign runner gets caught, burglaries to cars and more.

The following items are taken from the daily summary reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Traffic Arrest: Wendell P. Allen, 53, of Oak Park, was charged Sept. 22 for driving without a valid license and disobeying a stop sign after a traffic stop in the 5900 block of Corcoran Avenue, police said.

Burglary to Auto: A money clip containing miscellaneous identification cards and $5 was stolen Sept. 21 from the glove compartment of a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu parked in the rear lot of a building in the 200 block of South Maple Avenue.

Theft: A locked mountain bicycle was stolen Sept.21 from a rack outside of , 201 N. Scoville Ave. Estimated loss was $450.

Theft: A bicycle was stolen sometime between Sept. 21 and Sept. 22 from the rear stairwell outside of an apartment building in the 400 block of South Kenilworth Avenue. Estimated loss was $340.

Outside Warrant: Milton T. Gray, 21, of Oak Park, was arrested Sept. 22 on an outstanding warrant out of Jackson County for theft from person and an outstanding warrant out of Kane County for pot possession, police said. The arrest took place in the 400 block of South Euclid Avenue.

Outside Warrant: Dwayne Richardson, 42, of Chicago, was arrested Sept. 22 on an active warrant out of DuPage County for aggravated fleeing and eluding police, police said. Police said he turned himself in at the Oak Park police department.

Burglary to Auto: A plastic bag containing $10 in change was stolen sometime between Sept. 18 and Sept. 21 from a 2003 Saturn Ion parked in the 900 block of North Euclid Avenue.

Burglary to Auto: An insurance card was stolen sometime between Sept. 20 and Sept. 21 from an unlocked 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee parked in the 900 block of North Oak Park Avenue.

Burglary to Auto: A backpack was stolen sometime between Sept. 20 and Sept. 21 from an unlocked 2002 Saturn SL2 parked in the 100 block of South Scoville Avenue. Estimated loss was $10.

Theft: A mountain bicycle was stolen Sept. 21 from the garage of a home in the 600 block of South Harvey Avenue. Access was gained through the open overhead door. Estimated loss was $200.
