One Earth Film Festival Schedule Released

First of its kind festival brings dozens of socially conscious films to local screens.

The One Earth Film Festival has finalized its lineup, and this green revolution will be televised in theaters and yoga studios, libraries and churches.

The group behind the festival, the Oak Park-based Green Community Connections, will host screenings for dozens of thought-provoking, socially conscious at multiple venues across the area.

Here's the schedule, broken down by venue and showtime. Tickets for most of the movies are free, but carry a suggested donation of $5. Here's the ticket page

A special "Green Carpet" kickoff event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, April 27 at the , 615 Garfield St. in Oak Park.

“Our intent is to cultivate awareness, spur involvement, and promote environmental sustainability in our own community and beyond,” Sally Stovall with Green Community Connections said in a press release. “The films chosen by Green Community Connections for its first festival are compelling, powerful and rich in their diversity of topics, but also focused on inspiring each of us to think about the role we canplay in protecting our planet. We’re hoping to offer something meaningful for every member of the family.”.
