Poinsettias on Display at Oak Park Conservatory

Poinsettias and paperwhites are the flowers of the month at the Oak Park Conservatory.
Do you know how the poinsettia got its name? Do you know why paperwhites are the easiest bulbs to force into bloom?
Come to the conservatory, 615 Garfield St., between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 30 for a docent-led tour and learn some interesting facts about these interesting plants.
The cost is $5 for adults and $2 for children.
