Police Blotter: Copper Stolen, Harassing Text Messages

THURSDAY, FEB. 21
Phone Stolen
A Samsung cell phone was taken from a window ledge in the Fine Arts Building of Dominican University, 7900 Division. The victim said it was stolen sometime between 9 p.m. and 10:20 p.m. Feb. 21. The estimated loss was $200.
TUESDAY, FEB. 19
Copper Theft
About 55 feet of copper down spouts were stolen from a home in the 1500 block of Franklin sometime between 10 p.m. Feb. 18 and 8 a.m. Feb. 19. The estimated loss was $500.
Phone Harassment
A River Forest woman told police she received several threatening text messages from her ex-boyfriend. She didn't want to file criminal charges but was given information about obtaining an order of protection. The Streamwood Police Department contacted the ex-boyfriend and advised him to have no further contact with the woman.
Residential Burglary
A home in the 600 block of Park Avenue was broken into sometime between 8:30 a.m. Feb. 17 and 10:55 p.m. Feb. 19. The resident couldn't determine if anything was stolen, but there were signs that the home had been rummaged through.
