River Forest Police Blotter: Another Theft at Concordia

The following information was supplied by the River Forest Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Aggravated DUI Charge: Rogelio Sanchez, Jr., 35, of Joliet, was charged with aggravated drunken driving Jan. 29 after an officer saw his car stopped in the southbound curb lane in the 700 block of North Harlem Avenue, police said. Further checks revealed that his license had been suspended. He also was charged with improper parking, stopping or standing and aggravated driving on a suspended license, police said.

Theft: Another theft has taken place on the campus of Concordia University, 7400 Augusta St., this time on Feb. 1 when a computer projector valued at $900 was stolen from an unlocked classroom in Addison Hall. The machine had been used for a class, but was missing when an A-V employee arrived to pick it up.

Traffic Arrest: Francisco Valdez, 29, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended license Jan. 30 after an officer spotted a vehicle in the 7500 block of North Avenue following another car too closely and repeatedly applying his brakes, police said. A check revealed that Valdez had no driver’s license, his driving privileges had been revoked on prior arrests for unlicensed driving and he also was wanted on a warrant out of Chicago for drunken driving, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Miguel Bahina, 30, of Chicago, was charged Jan. 31 with driving on a suspended license after an officer pulled over his car in the 7500 block of North Avenue for driving with its high beam headlights on, police said. On stopping the car, the officer determined that Bahina’s driving privileges had been suspended for previous DUI and insurance violations. He also was charged with failing to dim his headlamps and driving without insurance, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Teri L. Yackley, 26, of Oak Park, was charged with felony driving on a revoked license Jan. 31 after an officer saw a car in the 7500 block of North Avenue with an expired temporary registration, police said. Yackley was wanted on a warrant out of Kane County for driving on a suspended or revoked license. She also was charged with driving with an expired registration, operating a car without insurance and the Kane County warrant, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Kelita C. Padgett, 26, of Hillside, was charged with driving on a suspended license Feb. 1 after an officer ran a routine license plate on her car and found she was wanted for a similar charged in DuPage County, police said. She was apprehended in the area of Chicago Avenue and William Street.

Traffic Arrest: Nicole S. Meeks, 25, of LaGrange Park, was charged with driving on a suspended license Feb. 1 after a traffic stop for speeding in the area of Madison Street and Thatcher Avenue, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Daniel Lopez, 26, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended license Feb. 1 after an officer pulled over his auto in the 7500 block of North Avenue for having suspended plates, police said. He also was charged with driving on an expired registration and driving without insurance.

Traffic Arrest: Christopher Tate, 40, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended license Feb. 4 after an officer pulled him over for speeding at Division Street and Thatcher Avenue and determined his license had been suspended, police said. He also was charged with driving without insurance.

Traffic Arrest: Juan Castro, 25, of Elmwood Park, was charged with driving on a revoked license Feb. 5 after an officer pulled over his car in the 1300 block of North Harlem Avenue, police said.
