River Forest Police Blotter: Burglary at Frank's Deli

The following information was supplied by the Oak Park Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary: More than $5,000 was stolen from Frank’s Deli when a cash register, cash and a tip jar were taken from inside the store at 7971 Lake St. Police said around 5:27 a.m. on Feb. 15. A citizen reported that an unknown person had broken a front window. Officers determined that two large bricks were used to gain entry to the shop.

Traffic Arrest: A 16-year-old from Western Springs was charged Feb. 19 with driving without a valid license, failing to signal and driving with too many occupants in the car after a traffic stop in the 400 block of Des Plaines Avenue in Forest Park, police said. The two passengers, 17-year-olds from Western Springs and La Grange both were charged with village ordinances of consuming alcohol by a minor and violating curfew. All were turned over to a parent.

Traffic Arrest: A 14-year-old from Maywood was charged with driving without a valid license, speeding, operating an uninsured auto and failing to wear a seatbelt Feb. 19 after an officer stopped a car for speeding in the 7900 block of Madison Street, police said. The juvenile driver was turned over to an adult sibling after her release.

Burglary Arrest: Andrew A. Shepard, 44, of Chicago, was charged with burglary Feb. 19 after leaving an unlocked garage in the 7400 block of Iowa Street, police said. An officer saw him enter the garage and radioed for back-up. Police said he had nothing in his possession when he left the garage.

Theft: A wallet containing credit and other identification cards was taken Feb. 18 from the service counter at Dominick’s Finer Foods, 7501 W. North Avenue. The owner told the store that the item was taken after he accidentally left it on the counter.

Traffic Arrest: Leonard King, 41, of Melrose Park, was charged with driving on a suspended license Feb. 18 after a traffic stop in the 7300 block of North Avenue, police said. He also was charged with having open liquor in his car.

Marijuana Possession: Brandon A. Pulliam, 18, of Maywood, was charged on a local ordinance for possession of marijuana Feb. 18 after a traffic stop at Van Buren Street and Grove Lane in Forest Park, police said. The driver of the car, Paul Gable, 17, of Broadview was cited for speeding and the two other occupants in the auto were released, police said.

DUI Charge: Adrienne Tlapa, 27, of Morris, was charged with drunken driving Feb. 18 after her car was stopped for making an illegal turn at North and Park avenues, police said. She also was charged with disobeying a traffic sign, failing to dim her headlights and driving too fast for conditions, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Alexandra N. Ocampo, 28, of Oak Park, was charged with driving on a suspended license Feb. 18 after a traffic stop in the 7400 block of North Avenue, police said. She was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a search revealed a glass pipe, commonly used to smoke marijuana, was located in the center console, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Francisco Martinez-Gamino, 23, of Ind., was charged with driving without a license Feb. 17 after he was pulled over in the 400 block of Harlem Avenue for having expired registration plates, police said. He also was charged with operating a car with expired registration and driving without insurance.

Theft from Auto: Three emblem covers were stolen Feb. 17 from a 2001 Cadillac DeVille parked in the 7500 block of Lake Street. The estimated value was unknown.

Traffic Arrest: Bruce C. Jackson, 35, of Chicago, was charged Feb. 16 with driving on a suspended license after his car was pulled over in the 7400 block of Augusta Street for failing to have a light illuminating his registration plate, police said. He also was charged with operating a car without a rear registration plate light, illegal transport of alcohol.

Traffic Arrest: Marcelo Ceron, 36, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended license Feb. 15 after a traffic stop in the 7300 block of North Avenue for having an improperly displayed temporary license plate and not having brake lights, police said. Ceron also was charged with operating a car without a registration plate light and driving without insurance.

Traffic Arrest: Krystal C. Ray, 26, of Maywood, was charged with driving on a suspended license Feb. 15 after an officer pulled over a car at Madison Street and Gale Avenue with suspended registration plates, police said. She also was charged with driving while the registration was suspended and driving a car without proof of insurance.

Warrant Arrest: Christopher Holt, 38, of Bellwood, was arrested Feb. 15 on outstanding warrants out of Cook and DuPage counties for failure to pay child support and burglary, respectively, police said. The car he was riding in had been pulled over for speeding in the 900 block of Thatcher Avenue, police said. He also was charged with giving a false name to officers. The driver of the car, Ronald Wilson Robinson, 24, also of Bellwood, was charged with speeding and possession of marijuana, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Dwayne C. Price, 27, of Maywood, was charged with driving on a suspended license Feb. 14 after a traffic stop in the 7200 block of Chicago Avenue, police said. Officers pulled over his car because four youngsters in the back seat were not secured in child safety restraints. He also was charged with failing to secure a child in a seatbelt.

Traffic Arrest: Gerard C. Moorer, 28, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended license Feb. 14 after a traffic stop at Washington Boulevard and Keystone Avenue for expired registration plates on his car, police said. A routine investigation found that Moorer’s license was suspended for failing to pay parking tickets. He also was charged with driving on an expired registration and unlawful use of a driver’s license, police said.
