Woman Pushed, Robbed in Parking Lot: Police Blotter

Also, a car was stolen and a garbage can was melted. Oak Park police reports, March 1-4.

 

MONDAY, MARCH 4

Catalytic Converter Stolen

A catalytic converter was stolen from a Toyota Sequoia parked in the 200 block of N. Grove sometime between noon and 2:30 p.m. The loss was $260.

Fence Broken

Someone kicked a fence in the 1000 block of S. Highland twice in a three-day period, breaking the fence. The estimated damage is $100. 

Man Charged in Garage Burglary

Kent Temple, 49, of the 1200 block of S. Kolin in Chicago, was charged with burglary. Police said Temple was seen stealing lawn chairs from a garage in the 1000 block of S. Humphrey. Police also discovered Temple had a warrant for his arrest in DuPage County for a battery charge. He was held for bond hearings.

Woman Robbed

A man pushed a woman from behind in a parking lot in the 100 block of N. Harlem at about 5 p.m., then stole her wallet. The wallet contained identification and credit cards. The offender was last seen running southbound across Madison Street. The estimated loss was $22. 

SUNDAY, MARCH 3

Rent Stolen

A rent payment of $506 in cash was taken from a lock box attached to a wall in the 900 block of S. Austin. The burglary occurred between 4 p.m. March 2 and noon March 3.

Dine-n-Dash

A number of men left the Denny's restaurant in the 700 block of N. Harlem without paying for their meals at 2:49 a.m. The offenders fled the scene northbound on Harlem Avenue in a gray 2005 Hyundai. The estimated loss was $55.14. 

Car Stolen

A 2005 Pontiac Grand Am was stolen from a home in the 0-100 block of Lake Street sometime between 5:30 p.m. March 2 and 8 a.m. March 3. The car was possibly stolen using a spare key, police said. 

Garbage Can Melted

Someone set fire to a green garbage can in the 1000 block of S. Grove, causing it to melt completely. The estimated loss was $100. 

Car Radio Stolen

A Kenwood car radio was stolen from a car in the 0-100 block of Iowa between 12:30 a.m. and 3:28 p.m. March 3. Someone smashed the driver's side window to break into the car. 

FRIDAY, MARCH 1

Property Damage

Someone scratched the driver's side of a car parked on the first level of the Holly Court garage. The estimated loss was $250. It occurred between 8:38 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.
