DESCRIPTION:Dominican University&rsquo\;s Graduate School of Library and 
 Information  Science (GSLIS) will present its annual Follett Lecture on 
 Tuesday\,  March 13 at 6:00 p.m. in the Martin Recital Hall\, Fine Arts 
 Building\,  7900 W. Division Street\, River Forest. Mary Minow\, 2011-12
  Follett Chair  in the GSLIS\, will speak on &ldquo\;Ebooks and the Read
 er.&rdquo\;\nMinow will discuss timely and groundbreaking issues such as
   confidentiality of ebook reading records\; different ways to access  e
 books including purchase\, rental\, and library lending\; a constantly  
 changing rights and permissions environment\; and more. The simple days 
  of libraries purchasing books and lending them to the public are waning
   in an era of increasingly digital data. Minow will consider the curren
 t  state of the art as well as what the future may hold.\nMinow was appo
 inted by President Obama to the National Museum and  Library Services Bo
 ard. She manages the Stanford Copyright and Fair Use  website and founde
 d the Library Law blog. In addition\, she serves on the  board of the El
 ectronic Privacy Information Center\, as well as the  board of the Freed
 om to Read Foundation.\nOne of only four chairs in library science in th
 e country\, the  Follett Chair is bestowed upon a master researcher and 
 scholar who has  achieved renown in the profession. The chair is endowed
