Locally owned Kinderhook offers eight beers on tap, an outside patio and an emphasis on being green: serving Tall Grass beef, free-range chicken and pork, locally produced veggies when available and using recycled paper products.

Its beer menu has a Midwestern focus, including brews from Goose Island, Twin Brothers and Great Lakes, plus national and intenational brands.

The drink menu includes signature cocktails modeled after Oak Park notables such as Ernest Hemingway, Betty White and Frank Lloyd Wright.

Among its food items, the Kinderhook burger is popular, featuring Tall Grass ground beef stuffed with Wisconsin cheese on pretzel bread. Other menu items include meatloaf, a 24-hour marinated pork tenderloin, vegetarian options and Kettlestring fries made fresh from raw potatoes.

During late-night hours a reduced menu is still available, with service open until last call.
