Oak Park Crime Down in First Half of 2013

Oak Park police report drop in crime, more arrests in first half of 2013.

Crime is down in Oak Park: According to police data recapping the first six months of 2013, the total number of crimes reported is down about eight percent. Read more about the breakdown of arrests and crimes reported so far this year here.

Do you know your resident beat officer? Police commended residents for their vigilance in reporting crime and suspicious activity, but remind us to be in the loop when it comes to knowing our resident beat officers. There's a map on the Oak Park website that shows you who to contact in each of Oak Park's eight zones.

Thursday Night Out: The entertainment tonight includes Alfonso Ponticelli from 5-7 p.m. and Tito AfriCaribe from 7-9 p.m.

Buzz Cafe is having a BYOB party tomorrow night: Burgers, Beers and Bands is 5-9 p.m. (The BYOB part is 6:30-8:30 p.m.), with live music by Roger Kotecki at Buzz Cafe, 905 S. Lombard Ave.
