Huskie Music Fest to Fund Scholarships in OPRF Music Program

Funds raised from the fest will be used to support scholarships for students in the OPRF music program, which is recognized for its.

The Oak Park and River Forest High School music program will host the annual Huskie Music Fest from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, highlighting musical talent from the band, orchestra, choral, and jazz programs. 

"The fest offers a chance for the community to hear music from all groups and ensembles in one evening, with a series of performances throughout the building," according to a message on the OPRF website.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Two years ago, Orchestra and the Jazz Ensemble were selected to perform at the Illinois Music Educator’s Association (IMEA) annual convention in recognition of their musical achievements.

More than 20 OPRF students are selected annually to perform at the district and state level for the IMEA competition in band, orchestra, choral, and jazz ensembles, according to OPRF.
