The Des Plaines Valley Council serves 42 communities in the western and southwestern suburbs of Chicago.  The Council is recognized as one of the oldest local Boy Scout organizations in the Nation, having offered its programs to youth in these communities for most of Scouting’s history.  The Scouts celebrated their 100th Anniversary in 2010.

In Scouting’s next century the Des Plaines Valley Council is working to expand efforts to increase public understanding and support for Scouting and advance its program of service to youth in the communities it serves.
