Dominican University presents community-wide Hunger Banquet

Dominican University, in collaboration with West Suburban Temple Har Zion, is presenting on Wednesday, November 13 a Hunger Banquet to raise awareness of local and Chicago area hunger issues and to introduce the community to ways that interfaith cooperation is addressing this complex and pervasive problem. The program, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the dining hall of the university’s Priory Campus, 7200 W. Division (and Harlem) Street, River Forest.

According to the United Nations, over 925 million people do not have enough to eat. While many of these people live in developing countries, thousands of people in the Chicago area and our own communities also suffer from food insecurity.

Representatives from the Oak Park Food Pantry and PADS will speak about their efforts to combat hunger in our community.

Participants are asked to bring bread to share with those who sit at their tables. Reservations are required prior to November 1. For more information about the Hunger Banquet, please contact Fran Nolan at fnolan@dom.edu.
