Dominican University presents student production of Extemities

Dominican University’s Performing Arts Center will present a student production of the controversial 1982 Off-Broadway play, Extremities, Friday, February 21 to Sunday, February 23. The play will held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the Martin Recital Hall of the Fine Arts Building, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest.

Extremities, which was adapted for the 1986 film starring Farrah Fawcett, is an intense psychological thriller about a woman’s unbridled revenge on the man who attacks her in her apartment. Marjorie turns the tables on her attacker by holding him hostage and torturing him until he confesses to a series of rapes and murders in her neighborhood. The play raises provocative questions about the line between justice and revenge as it explores Marjorie’s  dilemma—should she release him and risk another attack, or should she kill him?

Tickets for the production are $17; student tickets are $5. To order tickets, contact Dominican University’s box office at (708) 488-5000.
