Dominican University’s Graduate School of Library and Information Science is presenting an Illinois Storytelling Open Mic night on Saturday, September 7 at 8:00 p.m. The event will be held in the Lewis Lounge in Lewis Hall, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest.
The storytelling event is open to all levels of adult storytellers, and story lovers are welcome to come and listen. The format is casual, informal and un-themed. Tellers, who are asked to keep stories to about 10 minutes, can receive immediate feedback if they wish.
Illinois Storytelling, Inc. is a statewide network of professional and emerging storytellers dedicated to connecting generations, nurturing communities and celebrating diversity through story. The nonprofit organization provides website services, event production, professional growth opportunities and supportive services designed to preserve the art and tradition of storytelling.
Subsequent open mics will be held on October 5, November 2 and December 14.
