Northwestern College to Host 2014 Career Fair for Students & Community

[Bridgeview and Chicago-Jefferson Park, IL]  Northwestern College’s Bridgeview and Chicago Campuses will be hosting career fairs for students and the community on Thursday, May 15 from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 Noon. Approximately 35 businesses and employers have already confirmed their attendance at these two events, with several additional employers expressing interest. The Bridgeview Campus Career Fair will take place at 7725 S. Harlem Avenue while the Chicago Campus event will be held simultaneously at 4811 N. Milwaukee Avenue in the Jefferson Park neighborhood.  With the unemployment rate continuing to remain high here in Illinois, Northwestern College believes it is imperative to do everything it can to assist its students in obtaining employment.

Last year approximately 500 job seekers attended the two 2013 events held at the Bridgeview and Chicago campuses, including students, alumni, and numerous members of the public. This year attendance is expected to be even higher.

Northwestern College has been registering businesses and employers for the past two months for this spring’s career fairs.  Some of the businesses and employers that have already confirmed attendance at each of the campuses include:

Bridgeview Campus (7725 S. Harlem Avenue): TCF Bank; Palos Community Hospital; BrightStar Care of Orland Park/Will County; IL Department of Corrections/Department of Juvenile Justice; UPS; Homewatch Caregivers; Primerica; Waddell and Reed Financial Advisors; IL Department of Employment Security; World Financial Group; TEIL Firms; IL Department of Justice (DEA); DeVry University; Power Distributing LLC; and Trinity Christian College.

Chicago Campus (4811 N. Milwaukee Avenue): State Farm Insurance; Aerotek; TCF Bank; TEIL Firms; Robert Half Legal; Addison Group; US Department of Justice DEA; BMM (supply chain company); US Army; QPA; College Nannies and Tutors; RCN Cable Chicago; MatchConverge; Computer Systems Institute; IL Department of Employment Security; U.S. Coast Guard RO Chicago; Sapan Retail; IL National Guard; Travelers Aid; and Radisson Blue Aqua Hotel Chicago. Kelly Healthcare and Mobile Massage may also attend.

In addition, representatives from several higher education institutions will be available to provide information for students interested in continuing their education to obtain a 4-year degree (Northwestern College is a 2 year degree institution). Representatives that have confirmed participation at the Bridgeview Campus include DeVry University and Trinity Christian College.
