Township Receives Eight Award for Financial Reporting
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded Oak Park Township its Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the Township’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for its Fiscal Year 2013. This certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. This is the eight consecutive year that Oak Park Township has received this distinction for its CAFR.
The Township’s CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
Township Supervisor David Boulanger stated that “The Township is keenly aware of citizen interest in how our taxes are spent. The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report along with the Township’s GFOA award winning budget presentation is available to any Oak Parker for inspection of the Township’s fiscal stewardship.”
