Downtown Oak Park is gearing up for the 22nd annual Oaktoberfest event on Friday, Sept. 20 and Saturday, Sept. 21. The free two-day event will offer a premier music line up, seasonal menu items from Oak Park restaurants, specialty microbrews, and a Kids’ Root Beer Garden.
Here's what you'll find at Oaktoberfest:
MUSIC LINE UP: Premier music lineup features music from across the country.
LOCAL FOOD: Enjoy seasonal favorites and international specialties from local restaurants.
MICROBREWS: Craft beer will be offered as well as a selection of fine wines. One drink ticket is $7; Three drink tickets, plus a 22-ounce souvenir mug: $20.
KIDS’ ROOT BEER GARDEN: The Root Beer Garden features family activity area on Marion Street on Saturday from 12-5pm. Zucchini racing will offer the chance for kids to create and race their own zucchini cars. The kids’ area will also feature karaoke, root beer floats, games, and other activities by local organizations including Oak Park Public Library, Wonder Works, OPRF Cheerleaders, Lil’ Kickers, Magical Minds and Lake Theatre. A kids’ musical show by The Dreamtree Shakers will be on stage Saturday from 12:30-1:30pm.
