A Crowd of 500 Visits District 97's Booth at Day in Our Village:
A crowd of 500 people visited District 97's booth during the recent Day in Our Village event. Superintendent Al Roberts and members of the Board of Education spent the day greeting event attendees, handing out school and district-specific pencils to children, answering questions about our schools and providing updates about the progress the district has made following the passage of the referendum in April 2011 (http://www.op97.org/referendum/).

With his newly expanded La Lupita Restaurant, restaurateur Sal Figueroa renewed his endeavor with his mother and restaurant namesake, Lupita, to serve a variety of Mexican dishes in a warm and welcoming setting.

Mother Goose in Our Village:
Every weekend, indeed everyday, brings new opportunities to build awareness of the old Blue Star Banner tradition. Mother Goose and, of course, Mr. Goose have been spotted in several locations lately — making those connections to military families and explaining the benefits of having a banner hanging in their front windows.
