Gov. Quinn Buys $50 Lemonade at 9/11 Charity Stand

Quinn stopped by the charity lemonade stand in River Forest Wednesday, where money goes to support people with developmental disabilities.

Gov. Pat Quinn bought a cup of lemonade for $50 tonight in River Forest, supporting people in the area with developmental disabilities.

Quinn's donation goes toward the $27,000 goal set by organizers of the 12th annual Bonnie Brae LemonAid Stand, who raised a mere $400 at the first event in 2002.

Quinn commended the kids who helped organize the event, and their understanding of the importance of service to others.

Proceeds from the event will go to Oak-Leyden Developmental Services, an Oak Park-based organization supporting people with developmental disabilities.
