Grab & Go Kids Planner: Drawing Lessons, Yu-Gi-Oh! and 'Fear Factor' Food Tasting

From painting a masterpiece to tasting odd foods, there's plenty to do in the area this weekend.

CHARCOAL DRAWINGS
When/Where: 4 p.m. Friday at Why go: Kids can create drawings with charcoal, a nod to African American History Month and Dr. George Washington Carver, inventor of modern charcoal.

Yu-Gi-Oh! TOURNAMENT
When/Where: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the
Why go: Snacks and prizes await competitors of this doubles Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament, open to kids and teens in fourth grade and up.

FEAR FACTOR FOOD TASTING

PAINTING BASICS FOR LITTLE ONES
When/Where: 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the
Why go: Instructor Kim Kurrus will teach budding artists about mixing colors, using tools, sketching and the process of completing a painting. For kids ages 5 to 10. 
Price: $20 for OPAL members; $25 for non-members.

FREE ZOO DAY!
When/Where: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Brookfield Zoo
Why go: Watch dog-sledding demonstrations, learn about adopting homeless Siberian huskies, listen to live music and hear stories.
