PADS in Need of Volunteers on Christmas Day

Three shifts available to help out shelter guests at First United Church of Oak Park.

If you've got some time to spare on Christmas Day here's a way to spread some holiday cheer to the area homeless.

Volunteers are needed to help staff three shifts at the West Suburban PADS site at First United Church of Oak Park, 848 Lake St.

Here's what needs to be done:

Find out what's happening in Oak Park-River Forestwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

  • From 5 to 10 am, folks are needed to serve breakfast and clean up, among other tasks.
  • From noon to 5 pm, volunteers are needed to serve lunch and help out with the day's activities, including games and movies.
  • From 5 to 10 pm, people are needed to serve dinner and help out with the evening activities -from games to movies and more.
