Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: I won 12th place at the IHSA State Speech Tournament in Prose Reading in Peoria, IL. Prose Reading is an interpretation event in which each competitor tells an eight-minute story. Competitors are judged on their level of connection to the story, how they use the book, whether they understand the emotional levels within their piece, vocal variety, and facial expressions.

Key to Awesomeness: I am thankful to have parents who support me and guide me and to my extremely dedicated and encouraging coaches: Ms. Patt Cheney, Ms. Lynette Welter, Mr. Kevin O'Brien, and Mr. Matt Johnston. I love doing Speech Team because I get a rush out of speaking in public and because I am so connected to my performances at each tournament, I have had a very successful season. Having the inner drive to want to accomplish something is also very important.
