Rabbi David Saperstein to Speak at Oak Park Temple

Named the most influential rabbi by Newsweek in 2009, David Saperstein will speak at a free and public event at Oak Park Temple on Feb. 3.

In a free event that is open to the public, Rabbi David Saperstein will speak at , on Feb. 3 to discuss important issues in Judaism and politics. The event begins at 10:30 a.m.

Saperstein's speech, The Election’s Over – What’s Next: The Jewish Stake in 
the 113th Congress, will focus on issues like economic justice, Israel, reproductive rights and the separation of church and state.

Saperstein is the director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism and was named the country's most influential rabbi in 2009 by Newsweek. He also serves on several prominent boards and national organizations including the NAACP, People For the American Way, National Religious Partnership on the Environment and the World Bank's World Faith Development Dialogue.

Saperstein was also appointed in 2009 by President Barack Obama as a member of the first White House Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.
