This is Princess: She Needs a Home

Want to give a pet a loving home? Here's how.

Each weekend, Patch will present a cat and a dog available for adoption through the Animal Care League in Oak Park.

Cats get Saturdays, dogs are on Sundays.

This is Princess; she's a 3-year-old calico. She came from another shelter, and when she arrived here, she was terrified. It took her a while to trust and feel comfortable. Patience and perseverance certainly paid off. She is shy, but she has a gentle and sweet demeanor. It will take some time for her to adjust to her her digs and when she does, you'll find she's quite the love bug. She loves long petting sessions, especially belly rubs. She will need a quiet home with respectful children over the age of 10. She is not a huge fan of being picked up and carried around, but she will tolerate being picked up briefly. Princess gets along with other like-minded felines and would do well in a multi-cat household. She wouldn't mind being your "One and Only" kitty either. Like others, we don't know what her life was like before she arrived here. We do know that this gentle soul has a lot of love to give.

To meet Princess and other animals for adoption, visit the ALC office, 1011 Garfield St. For hours, call 708-848-8155.
