This is Princess - She Needs a Home

Want to give a pet a loving home? Here's how.

Each weekend, Patch will present a cat and a dog available for adoption through the Animal Care League in Oak Park.

Cats get Saturdays, dogs are on Sundays.

This is Princess, a 3-year-old domestic short hair. This beautiful calico was transferred to ACL from another shelter. When she arrived, she was terrified. It took her quite some time to trust and feel comfortable. Patience and perseverance certainly paid off. Though Princess is shy, she has a very gentle and sweet demeanor. It will take some time for her to adjust to her new home and when she does, you will see how she is quite the love bug. Once Princess feels comfortable, she enjoys long petting sessions to include belly rubs.

Princess will require a quiet home with respectful children over the age of 10. She is not a huge fan of being picked up and carried around, but she will tolerate being picked up briefly. Princess gets along with other like-minded felines and would do well in a multi-cat household. She wouldn't mind being your "One and Only" kitty either. Like many others, we don't know what her life was like before she arrived at ACL. We do know that this gentle soul has a lot of love to give.

You can visit Princess and her pals at the ACL's office, 1011 Garfield St. For hours, call 708-848-8155.
