Art al Fresco

Visit Oak Park! announces the launch of Art al Fresco 2012 - a rotating group of artists who will share their work and inspiration! 

 

“We’re very excited with the lineup of artists who have juried into the program this summer,” says Bernadette Staszewski, Director of Membership for Visit Oak Park!  “Visitors will see a wide variety of art – fused glass, fiber art, woven bead jewelry, watercolors.”

Each weekend, beginning May 19, 2012, the Oak Park Visitors Center will host artists at the entryway of the Center, located at 1010 Lake Street, in Oak Park, Illinois.

The Oak Park Visitors Center is located in Downtown Oak Park – a vibrant business district that attracts hundreds of shoppers and diners every day who are seeking

one-of-a-kind items and experiences.  Art al Fresco adds an artistic dimension to the existing retail mix.

 

Art al Fresco will begin on Saturday, May 19, 2012, and will run every Saturday and Sunday through August 26, 2012.  The hours are 11am-4pm, and this event will be held rain or shine.

 

May’s featured artists are Sandra Schwarzbeck (fused glass), Elva DeCoursey (textiles), Gladys Cook (painter), Meg Guttman (fiber), and Philonese Simmons (jewelry).

 

Some spaces are still available this summer.  If you are an artist and interested in jurying into Art al Fresco, you can request an application through artalfresco@visitoakpark.com
