Arts & Entertainment

Art on Harrison

The Oak Park Arts District is “Embracing the Arts” of Oak Park at the annual Art on Harrison Street Walk, September 16 & 17.  Entertainment at this year’s event will be different than in the past as we embrace all of Oak Park and give festival goers the opportunity to preview various entertainment that can be enjoyed throughout the village.

The street comes to life on Friday night with special guests, artist receptions and a CD release party.

On Saturday, guest entertainment includes Greta Pope (Jazz); George Bailey and ring Shout; Taylor, Master Drummer of Holy Goat Percussion; Bill Wermetis, The Grasso Family (Blue Grass); OPCC; Aeverling (folk/rock); Mike Casey and Art Harrison Blue Grass All Star; Rough Around the Edges and a fashion show.

Events to participate in include A Silly/Creative Photo Contest and Collective Canvas Painting(s).  The painting(s) will be auctioned off on Ebay.  All proceeds from the sale will benefit Sarah’s Inn.  Both activities are open to all ages.

There will be demonstrations on yoga, qi gong, art, felting and so much more.  Majamas will be having a sidewalk sale, selling their unique fashions.
