Author Louise Erdrich Presents 2012 Barbara Ballinger Lecture

Louise Erdrich, one of the most revered novelists of our time, will share stories from her newly published book, The Round House. Doors will open at 6:30 pm. The Book Table will offer books for sale at Unity Temple. Following the program, a reception and author signing will take place across the street at Oak Park Public Library, at approximately 8:30 pm. Hosted by the Friends of the Oak Park Public Library, the lecture and reception are free and open to the public.

A brilliant chronicler of Native American life, Erdrich returns to the territory of her bestselling Pulitzer Prize finalist, The Plague of Doves, with The Round House, transporting readers to the Ojibwe reservation in North Dakota. The Round House is a page-turning masterpiece of literary fiction—at once a powerful coming-of-age story, a mystery, and a tender, moving novel of family, history, and culture.
