Chris Ware and Charles Burns at Unity Temple

Join Graphic Novelists Charles Burns and Chris Ware for "An Evening of Conversation" on Tuesday, November 2, at 7:30 pm at Unity Temple, 875 Lake Street in Oak Park. Charles Burns' work rose to prominence in Art Spiegelman's Raw magazine in the 1980s. He has illustrated covers for Time, The New Yorker, and The New York Times Magazine. His new, never-before serialized book is titled X'ed Out and is inspired by William S. Burroughs.

Chris Ware, an Oak Park resident and artist, is the author of Jimmy Corrigan - the Smartest Kid on Earth and the annual amateur periodical The ACME Novelty Library. Ware was the first cartoonist chosen to regularly serialize an on-going story in The New York Time Magazine in 2005 and 2006. Ware's cartoons are featured in the permanent art collection of the Oak Park Public Library.
