Dominican University book club to discuss "The Inheritors"

Dominican University's Book Club will discuss William Golding's The Inheritors on Tuesday, January 25 at 7:00 p.m. The discussion will be held in the Mulroy Lounge located on the first floor of Lewis Hall, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest.

In The Inheritors, Golding's second novel, a happy group of mild-mannered Neanderthals encounter another race of beings like themselves, yet strangely different. This new race, homo sapiens, fascinating in their skills and sophistication, terrifying in their cruelty, sense of guilt, and incipient corruption, spell doom for the more gentle folk whose world they will inherit.

Golding, author of Lord of the Flies, won the 1983 Nobel Prize for Literature. The Inheritors was met with wide acclaim when it was first published in 1962, and many critics have proclaimed it as the best of Golding's work.
