Dominican University Performing Arts Center presents Circo Aereo

Dominican University Performing Arts Center will present a performance by Circo Aereo, an international contemporary circus group, on Friday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lund Auditorium, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest.

Under the brilliant direction of Maksim Komaro and Jani Nuutinen, Finland’s Circo Aereo is widely recognized throughout Europe as a pioneer of New Circus. This beautiful “theater without words” mixes traditional circus arts such as juggling and aerial work with innovative cabaret theater, movement and charming humor.

Circo Aereo is based in Finland and France but the troupe frequently performs around the world. Currently one of the most active Finnish groups in terms of performing abroad, Circo Aereo is among the flagships of Finnish cultural exports. Active since 1996, the group has visited several distinguished festivals and theatres in around 30 countries. Circo Aereo’s barrier-breaking and open approach to the various forms of the performing arts mesmerizes and astonishes audiences. Produced with a human touch and on a human scale, its performances aim to get close to the audience and their emotions.
