Dominican University presents a dramatic reading of comedic works by Mark Twain

As part of a community-wide celebration of Mark Twain, Dominican University Graduate School of Library Information Science Professor Janice Del Negro and students from the university's theater department will present on Tuesday, October 19 a dramatic reading of some of Twain's lesser-known comedic works. The dramatic reading will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Martin Recital Hall, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest.

Del Negro, who will present excerpts from Twain's Eve's Diary, is nationally known author and storyteller who has appeared at storytelling festivals throughout the country. Her book Willa and the Wind (2005) was an American Library Association Notable Book and received the James H. Black Award for Excellence in Children's Literature. She chaired the 2007 Caldecott Award Committee in 2007.

Dominican students Sara Carranza, Patrick Hussey and Jaron Salazar will present selections from a number of Twain's stories. The students will be directed by Megan Wells, artistic director of The Performance Center in Oak Park and the Ray Bradbury Storytelling Festival.
