Dominican University will host a student fashion show, titled “Mirage,” showcasing garments created by students in its apparel design program. There will be two shows on Saturday, March 31, at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and one show Sunday, April 1, at 3:00 p.m., all in the Lund auditorium in the Fine Arts building on the university’s main campus at 7900 West Division Street, River Forest.
The runway show, presented by senior students in the university’s apparel design and merchandising program, will feature more than 100 garments. The garments will showcase each designer’s unique style, ranging from ready-to-wear pieces to avant-garde attire.
The theme “Mirage” reflects the desire to reach a hard-obtained illusion of beauty. This theme represents the difficult but exciting journey Dominican apparel students are taking to achieve their dreams. The show will conclude with senior collections designed by each senior apparel design student.
Following the show on Sunday, April 1, Dominican University President Donna M. Carroll will present students with scholarships and awards chosen by a jury of apparel industry professionals.
Friends and family of the students, fashion industry professionals and the public are invited. Tickets for the public are $15. Student tickets are $10.
