Close your eyes and imagine you’re in Italy as arias from Verdi, Rossini and Donizetti operas ring out in the night air on Friday, Aug. 5.

 

The Italian Opera Company of Chicago and Vince Amore present “Music Festival  Under the Stars,” a concert of operas and Italian music, at the Casa Italia Festival Center. Complimentary appetizers and authoritative commentary by opera scholar and author John Rizzo set the stage for a perfect evening.

 

Whether you’ve been meaning to learn more about opera or have had season tickets for years, you’ll appreciate the combination of music and Rizzo’s brief conversations introducing each piece.

 

Enjoy complimentary appetizers from Salerno’s before the performance, then settle in for a delightful evening of music.

 

When: Appetizers and cash bar at 6:30 p..m. Performance begins at 7:30 p.m.

Where: Casa Italia Festival Center, 3800 W. Division Street, Stone Park, Ill. Enter festival parking area at 37th and Soffel, Stone Park.
