Music of Fred Astaire played by Jeremy Kahn

The Monday Night Concert Series continues with the music of Fred Astaire played by Jeremy Kahn at 7 p.m. Monday, May 16, at the Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Ave. Hosted by Desi Vasquez, the concert is free, and the public is warmly welcome.

Jeremy Kahn is one of Chicago's busiest pianists, playing in jazz clubs, theatre pits, and recording studios. He was a featured guest on NPR's "Piano Jazz," hosted by Marian McPartland, and he was a guest on the radio show of the late Studs Terkel.

Kahn combines his love of jazz with the theatre music that has been an important influence on his development as a musician. Dennis Polkow of the Chicago Tribune wrote, “Kahn is …a rare and gifted pianist.”

Some of Fred Astaire’s tunes are Let's Call The Whole Thing Off, Let's Face The Music And Dance, Night And Day, A Fine Romance, Cheek to Cheek, Crazy Feet and I’m Putting All My Eggs in One Basket.

The Oak Park Arms is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay - a weekend, a week, a month or longer.

The concert is free and open to the public. Call Jill Wagner at 708-386-4040.
