Silent Film Series: The Artist

Want to escape for awhile from the world of cell phones, tablets, and 3D films? Head back to the days before the “talkies” and enjoy four films in Oak Park Public Library’s “Silence is Golden” film series. The series is free and open to the public.

All four films in the series will be shown at the Maze Branch Library, 845 Gunderson Avenue, Oak Park:

Wednesday, September 12 at 1:30 pm
Safety Last, a romantic comedy starring the death-defying Harold Lloyd
directed by Fred C. Newmeyer and Sam Taylor, 1923, 70 minutes
When a store clerk organizes a contest to climb the outside of a tall building, circumstances force him to make the perilous climb himself.
