Why go: This will be the last time — ever — to catch the legendary New Orleans-soaked rock 'n' roll jammers in the Chicago area. Beginning Thursday, they're playing a trio of farewell shows at FitzGerald's.

2. SUPER BOWL, SUPER BEER

Why go: Enjoy "expertly paired" classic tailgating side dishes with two different beers. Patrons can vote for their favorite pairing for a chance to win a cold cut platter for Sunday's big game.

3. WINTER'S FARMERS MARKET

Why go: Many farmers market favorites, like eggs, produce, salsa and locally raised meat, will be available at this indoor market.

4. BURGERS, BEERS, BANDS, BUZZ
Where and when: , Friday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. 
Why go: Come for the BYOB; stay for the live music and tasty organic burgers.
Price: Special pricing will be determined Friday.

Why go: Hear the stylish sounds of Seymour's Big Band, a group of 16 musicians dedicated to keeping alive the big band sounds of the 1930s and 1940s.
