Get Out: Art Opening, Play Preview and Singing To Live

When/Where: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the , 720 Chicago Ave. in Oak Park.
Why Go: It's the opening reception and debut of OPAL's new exhibit, which will feature artwork inspired by literature. Music by Jimbo Delta. 
Price: Free.

When/Where: 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at , 820 Ontario St. in Oak Park.
Why Go: Organizers say it's "time to resurrect your treasured sock hop regalia and relive those happy days" with food and dancing at the church's Fellowship Hall.
Price: $10 per person. Proceeds benefit the church's ministries.

Why Go: Ireland's best musicians converge on the university's Lund Auditorium stage for a relaxing evening of chamber orchestra music and the presentation of the university's Bravo Award to actor Gabriel Byrne, who will accept the honor via video. The event doubles as a fundraiser benefit for the university.

When/Where: 8 p.m. Sunday at the Oak Park Festival Theatre Performance Center,. 1010 W. Madison St. (Preview shows are available Friday and Saturday.)
Why Go:  By preeminent Irish playwright Brian Friel, Faith Healer tells the contradictory truths of faith healer Frank Hardy; Grace, his wife (or mistress, depending on who’s telling the story); and Frank’s Cockney manager and booker, Teddy. Back in Ireland after 20 years, each one discusses the decades they spent barnstorming through the small towns of Scotland and Wales, and one pivotal night.

SING TO LIVE
When/Where: 4 p.m. Sunday at , 460 Lake St. in Oak Park. 
Why Go: Passionate singers with connections to breast cancer take the stage for what's sure to be a powerful afternoon filled with songs on stage and stories of survival in the crowd. 
Price: Tickets are free for breast cancer survivors. For those lucky enough to have to pay, tickets are $20 for general admission and $15 for seniors and students. Ticket info here.
