Popular Holiday Oratorio to Be Staged at First United Methodist Church
Sing-Along Messiah on Dec. 9 to benefit West Suburban PADS.
One of the most popular holiday events will be staged Dec. 9 as First United Methodist Church of Oak Park presents its annual Sing-Along Messiah.
The event, conducted along with the MacDowell Artists Assn., will be at 3:30 p.m. at 324 Oak Park Ave.
Tickets are not required. A free-will offering will be received to support West Suburban PADS.

This is the 12th year that composer George Frideric Handel's most popular work has been performed at First United.
David Tartakoff will conduct; the church's historic Skinner organ will be played by Shawn Dawson, the church’s Director of Music Ministries.

This year’s soloists include: soprano Susan Krout, mezzo-soprano Audrey Dawson, tenor William Bennett and baritone Joseph Smith. Audience members are encouraged to bring their own scores as they will participate as the chorus.
A reception will be held following the concert.
