Unity Temple Offers an Evening with Max Weinberg

Legendary member of the E Street Band will stop at Oak Park's Unity Temple for a chat with fans.

When the extravaganza known as Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band rolls into Chicago next month for a pair of sold-out shows at Wrigley Field, one longtime band member will make a detour to Oak Park. 

Max Weinberg, "Mighty Max" to E Street fans, will pay a visit to on Thursday, Sept. 6 as part of the Unity Temple Restoration Foundation's "Break the Box" series, which aims to "explore innovative thinking and creative nonconformity."

Organizers say Weinberg will "share personal memories from his storied career with the E Street Band, the Max Weinberg 7 on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and The Max Weinberg Big Band.

"Best of all, he'll talk about his 'lifelong fascination and amazement' with Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture. Q&A will follow." 

For really big fans – we know you're out there — Unity Temple is offering a VIP reception with Weinberg that takes one hour before the event at a private Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home in Oak Park.

Tickets for the Unity Temple event are $25; Tickets for the VIP reception, which also offers guests prioirty seating at the Unity Temple event, are $125.   Both are available at the UTRF website.
