D90 Superintendent: 'Preparing for a New School Year'

Superintendent to hold office hours for parents, staff and community members as all prepare for the first day of school on Aug. 26.

The following is a message from River Forest District 90 Superintendent Edward Condon

Dear Students, Parents, Faculty, and Staff,

While the summer certainly seems to be flying by, there are still a couple of weeks left for all of us to enjoy the casual summer days with our families before school begins. I sincerely hope you are relishing some well-earned time to recharge and relax together with family and friends.

Here in District 90, concerted efforts are underway to prepare for the first day of classes on August 26. Our dedicated principals and staff are completing schedules, planning for students' needs, and making instructional preparations. The maintenance team has also been cleaning and refurbishing the schools at a break-neck pace. Thanks to their efforts, I feel confident that the students and staff will be pleased when they see the condition of the classrooms upon their return.

Once again this year, I will have Open Office Hours available for parents, staff, and community members to meet with me on an informal basis. They will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on the evenings of regularly scheduled Board of Education meetings (please see the district90.org website for the complete schedule). While matters regarding singular student issues should obviously be addressed at the teacher or school level, ideal topics for discussion during Open Office Hours would include district-level programs, initiatives, or strategic goals. No advance appointment is necessary!  Of course, you are always very welcome to contact me at any time via phone, email, or in person. However, if your best availability is the evening, I hope these extended hours will meet your needs.

Please know how much we are looking forward to welcoming the students back for another great school year. Until then, please have a safe, wonderful, and exciting remainder of the summer!

Respectfully,

Edward Condon, Ph.D.

Superintendent
